Legitimate question here.... Should this thread be moved to either the airtran, southwest, or Midwest travel sections. Considering that fl has next to no lift in mke now

It should probably go somewhere else, Not here. Frontier is waving goodbye. Maybe Mike may have some suggestions.

I agree it doesn't really fit here anymore, but I'm not sure where it really does, either.
The AirTran board's days are numbered, so we'll be in the same circumstances not terribly far down the road. Plus Milwaukee seems to be the first large AirTran station where Southwest is mostly taking over anyway. The Southwest board has a lot to talk about, and I haven't really see it be a defacto board for any airport. Looking at the last month of boardings I've seen (February 2012), MKE was 20th in the combined FL + WN traffic. 01. 611308 las 02. 585654 mdw 03. 550367 bwi 04. 480483 phx 05. 457069 mco 06. 446719 den 07. 420376 atl 08. 359761 hou 09. 320109 dal 10. 280263 lax 11. 262370 tpa 12. 254639 san 13. 251591 oak 14. 224370 stl 15. 205138 bna 16. 197962 fll 17. 174030 smf 18. 165538 mci 19. 164754 sjc 20. 140972 mke 21. 137661 aus 22. 134854 msy 23. 123169 abq 24. 121882 sat 25. 116708 sna 26. 112109 bur 27. 109981 sfo 28. 109790 rsw 29. 106039 phl 30. 101412 slc Were there threads on the Southwest board for places like BWI, OAK and HOU, a Milwaukee thread might fit in. But I suspect it would be largely unused and quickly buried and forgotten. Things like MKE market share threads are likely even more beside the point of what WN FT'ers are interested in. |

It's welcome to stay here for the time being, even with F9's withdrawal. It would probably make sense in TravelBuzz, but I don't know if everyone wants to hang out there to keep it bumped. F9 discussion here is likely to go down given a lot of us are MKE based, so it should be pretty easy to keep the thread from being buried.

Actually, if it were not for MKE discussion the F9 board would be almost blank.

I wonder if Talkboard would consider a board devoted to threads about airports?
Does that make any sense? |

Sounds like a good idea to me.

MKE named one of the 8 best alternative airports in US by INC.
http://www.inc.com/ss/abigail-tracy/...orts-america#7 More recognition of MKE comes from CNN, which selected MKE as having one of "14 airport amenities that will make you long for a layover." http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/18/travel...html?hpt=tr_c1 |

INC. is a little late. "64 unique destinations?" No longer.

Discovered by TSA at MKE Security
From http://blog.tsa.gov/ :
Kids Pack the Darndest Things – Even though a 9-year-old’s grandmother packed their bag, the child went in later and added 6 ground bloom fireworks. I can see why they wanted them. My 9-year-old self probably would have packed them too. These fireworks were discovered at Milwaukee (MKE). |
