Let me ask y'all this: Do you show a passport, or a driver's license to get through security?

If you show a driver's license to anyone at the airport (such as a bartender or security agent), you're giving away your home address and revealing that you're going out of town. That is potentially a bigger risk of major theft.

Passport card. Has never been a problem.

Excellent Point.

Dense fog at MKE starting Friday night and continuing into the overnight hours caused diversions and delays up to four hours. Several flights were also cancelled.

Among those inconvenienced by the fog were the Bucks' charter, which was diverted to ORD and WTMJ Radio broadcaster Trenni Kusnierek, whose FL redeye from PHX-MKE was delayed.

Trenni tweeted

Any of my Phx pals want to get me from the airport & bring me back at 4:30am?!??! Fog delayed flight... 11:59pm is now 5:45am
Her flight back from Spring Training actually departed PHX at 3:45am and is due to arrive MKE almost four hours late.

There are multiple departure delays out of MKE this morning, due to late inbound aircraft.

Poor parking availability at MKE

Though flight activity is trending down at MKE, parking lots/structure are at near capacity this spring.

This problem perstists every Spring and major holiday.

Is there a viable solution?

There has been talk of expanding the saver lot B further to the south. There is an open field inside the fence line. I;m not too sure if that will still go through or not.

I don't foresee that happening. Expand the lot, so it can sit empty most of the year.

GMIA recommends taking a shuttle or having a friend or relative drop you off.

A very complete guide to dining at MKE from OnMilwaukee.com:

Noticed there is a large sign hanging (just past the moving sidewalk to the parking garage) announcing that the chapel is coming soon along with some brochures in a small rack describing it.

Are there still plans to build an observation area near the beginning of 7R?

Not to sure what the hold up is but it was partially constructed last year and has yet to be finished. If you drive on 6th street around 7R you will see a small asphalt lot that still is fenced in, thats it.

Tom Daykin from the MKE Journal Sentinel has a short online piece on vendors at Mitchell.

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/busine...rt=newestfirst

Nonna Bartolotta reports revenue is about 1/3 what it was last year.

Still cannot help but wonder where the airlines will end up a year from now, and what that will mean for vendors. With Southwest taking over all of AirTran's remaining flying in November except for DC, Atlanta, and a handful of Florida flights, Southwest will bring a whole lot more people into D...if that's where they operate this fall. If Southwest moves to C, then D collapses unless they move significant lift on other airlines over there.

I'm guessing that the uncertain nature of this has kept some vendors open which may have otherwise closed by now. Vendors on D will see their business improve a lot if Southwest consolidates everything there, or if a great deal of other capacity moves to D if Southwest goes to C. Plenty of rumors and speculation out there, but we'll see what actually happens.

Could it possibly be true? Is MKE working on providing free Wi-Fi in the terminal?

Gosh I hope not. Free Wi-Fi pretty much means no Wi-Fi for anyone. I happily pay my $10 / month for Boingo and get solid service everywhere I use it.

Legitimate question here.... Should this thread be moved to either the airtran, southwest, or Midwest travel sections. Considering that fl has next to no lift in mke now
