As of Aug 2

ATL-MKE
6:48 flight is gone,
11:20 becomes 11:50
and they add a 5:00 pm flight.

MKE-ATL
8:20 flight becomes 7:45
Add a 1:30 pm flight
7:45 pm flight is gone.

Assuming the YX website now reflects any changes, all 4 of our paid itins (MSP-MKE-STL-MKE-MSP) are on flights still flying. All segments are morning flights on Midwest Connect (2820/2631/2541/2825) exc. one MKE-MSP afternoon on YX 4.

They made minor changes to flight times, shortened one recurring connection from 25 to 20 minutes. We're ok, I think.

Current prices of the itins are 2.64X what I paid. :D

I don't think the real changes (due to cut-backs) have been loaded into the system yet. All of the MD80 flights still show during the winter months, as of this post.

Minor changes might be seasonal, or previously planned.

These are just time changes, no reduction in frequency ... I think it's more accurate to say what everyone is really waiting for is the announcement of capacity changes, not just changes in schedule.

I dunno, dropping a frequency looks like a reduction to me.

There have been no frequency reductions on the MKE-ATL route (at least no yet anyways). Only the times of the flights have been changed.

This change has been in the system for several weeks already.

WTMJ-TV is reporting FLL and AUS will be eliminated.

Complete schedule changes should be loaded Sunday.

They just change the times around.

The schedule posted was for ATL-MKE. Midwest currently has an evening flight from MKE that overnights in ATL. That flight is being eliminated, but an early afternoon flight is being added. Still three flights per day, just different times.

This link doesn't contain any new details.

AUS has been known for awhile now. FLL has been scheduled to end August 4th but return in the fall. We'll see if that still happens.

No word...or shall I say no leak...yet.

However I think we can get a rather good clue from the website.

Schedule changes are not instant, and it often takes a couple of days for a new schedule to show up in third-party sales channels like Orbitz. But changing fare inventory shows up immediately. In a case like this, when you see all the fare buckets wiped out except full coach, that's usually a clear sign. It's an immediate way to for them to (essentially) halt the sale of tickets to a market being dropped. Even if the flights don't disappear on their website until Sunday, and perhaps the new schedule isn't on Orbitz until Tuesday or Wednesday, they have already in essence stopped selling tickets to dropped cities.

Book a week-long leisure trip for late this fall and you'll find lots of round trips in the $200-$400 range depending on city pair...except certain nonstop city pairs show a round trip of $900-$1500. A sure sign.

These eleven destinations appear to be the goners.

Mainline markets
Fort Myers
Fort Lauderdale
San Diego

CRJ markets
Hartford
Raleigh
Baltimore
San Antonio
St Louis
Louisville
Muskegon
Wausau

I've heard they were in negoatiations with Skywest not only for better rates but for fewer aircraft, and this would suggest they have gone that direction.

The biggest surprises for me at San Diego and Hartford. The Florida markets are no surprise. Raleigh and Baltimore are largely leisure traffic, and MCI-SAT seemed to be the same. St Louis and Louisville had good fares but just had a hard time filling the CRJ. Wausau didn't have the best yields for connections, and poor Muskegon just can't fill a CRJ.

What we don't know, of course, are the flight frequencies of the new schedule. But it looks very likely that these markets are going and the rest are staying.

I REALLY hope SAN is not one of the routes cut. This will be a major disappointment if true. I've flown that route many times. There seemed to be a fair amount of business traffic on my flights at least.

Oh well, I guess it's back to United for those flights :td:

This comment has been made before, but Michael Brophy has done a horrible job managing the PR for Midwest in general. He's made specific comments ranging from "no destinations will be cut" to "leisure travelers won't be happy." It looks like he was off on both counts. I understand the bad position Midwest finds itself in but they should show Brophy the door.
