Well, I know you can get on one of the last 717's on the MKE-BOS route...During the month of October they are flying a 717 on that last flight from MKE to BOS during the day (7:40pm) and it is kept overnight in BOS and is the first flight out (6:45am) the next day before November 2nd.
If you look at the schedule for November 2nd between BOS and MKE...You will see that there are 2 return flights from BOS with the 717 because they need to get it back to MKE for the return to Boeing on November 3rd...so if you start in BOS, then you can take the 6:45am flight or the 4:20pm flight.
That 4:20pm flight from BOS to MKE is the last flight for one of those 5 remaining 717's...I am not sure what the last flights are for the other 4 planes left in the fleet.
I have seen a bumper sticker on a pilot's briefcase that says "RIP Midwest Pilots and Flight Attendants...November 3rd, 2009".
As many of us know on this board November 3rd is when the 717's are going to be returned.

At least three still flying...these 3 were in the air at the same time. I know there was a 4th in the air, but I don't have the time to track it down right now.

Which routes will be 717 over the weekend? Will MKE-MCI & MCI-SEA still be 717? I was going to take a quick trip before end, & I noticed a couple of other flights listed on Orbitz as 717 equipment changed to small planes yesterday.

I juggled my next work trip a bit and will be flying YX home from on Friday 30 Oct MKE-MCI-SEA, fl 450 & 89, both still scheduled as 717's. Will try to get some decent pix & video.
Just over a year ago I managed to fly MCO-MKE on the second to last MD-80 flight (N814), then rented a car to get to Green Bay.
It seems that every year another neat aircraft or airline disappears.

I'll be on the BOS to MKE 6:45am flight this Thursday, which will be my last trip on the 717...Looking on-line at seat availability it looks wide open for those interested in trying to make it...I believe after we arrive in MKE it goes on to Tampa at like 8:50am out of MKE, I am not totally sure on that though.

The seatmaps for the remaining 717 flights look very strange; the Saver seats are not in scale.
It makes for one very strange-looking aircraft, with the "A" seats over the fuselage.
Update:
It looks the problem is fixed.

My last flight this morning on the 717 was really smooth and was also the last flight for one of the flight attendent's, obviously being her last day...Today's approaches into MKE were from the North, so it was really nice sitting on the right side of the plane, being able to see the entire city when we turned south for the airport around White Fish Bay/Fox Point.
The flight only had 30 people on board so I now understand why Knope's load factors for the flights between BOS-MKE are what they are.
After being on the E190 and spending lot's of time on the E170, I will miss the sizeable seats on the 717...I have been on one flight on the A319 and enjoy the TV, but we will see how Republic continues to utilize it on the old 717 routes. From what I see the loads on that last flight on Thursday night between BOS-MKE are a little light, when they used to be pretty full with the E170 earlier this year.
Has anyone heard anything on the negotiations between the pilots/flight attendants and Republic? I heard a couple of weeks ago that they were sitting down to see if they could workout a deal for them to work on the A319's or E190's and be MKE based crews seeing as Republic doesnt have any MKE based crews and they will need them in the future.
