Which of the DXB hotels arent complexes?

Looking for a "city" hotel, but they also seem to be huge complexes with massive grounds and pools. I just want a city hotel (in a tower for views) and not have to take days walking round the thing. For example Grand Hyatt is a City hotel but is HUGE! A decent business only hotel is what I'd prefer.

I liked the look of Emirates Towers, but there's 3 of us and for some reason they dont have any option for 3 guests (how hard is it to give a roll-away bed?!).

I looked at some others put they got trashed on Tripadvisor. Do you lot find tripadvisor a true reflection?

Try the Shangri-La on Sheikh Zayed Road, it should fit the bill. Not that there's much to see from up the tower, mind you, but the hotel is manageable in size.

I did see that one. Looks really nice. Quite expensive though, especially as they only seem to offer the Horizon rooms for 3 people, and they're $700US per night. I thought Horizon Deluxe rooms were same as normal Deluxe rooms, just higher up and with Club access.

Hmm, the Hyatt Regency looks quite good.

I've stayed at the Moevenpick in Bur Dubai, and it is very manageable indeed, and a solid upscale hotel all round.
It's not a tower, tho, so it may not fit your bill on the views side. Mind you, I was on the 2nd floor or something like that, so not sure how the view from (near) the top is.

Agree with that, great views from the rooftop pool area and also from an Exec plus room if you can stretch to it. The creek's just across the road and makes for a decent walk to the Gold souks etc.

just got for the one nearest where you need to be when not in hotel, as traffic can be a pain.

I second the Shangri La. It's a very nice place with a compact lobby. It can be a little pricey, but it's a better deal than most places in town.

For Business, I use Rydges Plaza. But lately I've been recommended the Holiday Inn Express - just haven't had a chance to try it out yet, it's fairly new.
