Reaching Taba

I am looking at spending a holiday at Taba Heights. I was wondering about the best way to reach it, when flying into Cairo. There are some charter flights from the UK (once a week) direct into TCP, as well as flights to SSH, but which require, according to the IC people, a taxi fare of USD 250 one way. Would anyone have a better suggestion that does not involve overland border crossing ? Thanks for your help !

Bump, does anyone have any ideas? I am considering a trip to Egypt and will be flying into Cairo, and based on what I have seen would love to visit Taba Heights. Any easier way to get there?

Thanks!

the taba heights intercontinental is (allegedly) a 20-minute taxi journey from taba airport and the cost is $45. no visa is needed if u enter egypt at taba or sharm el sheikh airports (provided u do not leave the resort town part of the sinai peninsula), but u can obtain a visa on arrival if u enter through cairo. u cannot go to the pyramids if u have no visa.

Is that $45 US? This sounds like the price of a cab from Cairo to Taba...
