Flights into Iran
I'm trying to find a way to get to Iran on a low-dollar budget (recent trips to India, Africa, and Bermuda have tapped me out (and have me considering abandoning my career so I can travel more, in fact, so I'm trying to be a bit more responsible), and I want to go before any Bush Administration-inspired idiocy commences). I can get to Istanbul, Athens, or Mumbai for cheap, but need advice from there. Any thoughts on search engines or routings that would yield cheapish fares into Iran would be very welcome. Given my completely-new-to-the-place status, I'm expecting to probably want to go through Tehran. Similarly, any hotel thoughts are welcome. Many thanks.

Iran Air fares seem to be around 331.00USD return ex Istanbul
Dubai - Tehran - Dubai on Emirates would be the more comfortable way to go. The cost is around 266.00USD (DXB-THR-DXB on Iran Air is around 166.00USD)
None of the above fares include taxes
Cheers

Dubai-Tehran can be very cheap. The equivalent of US$120 for a roundtrip -- or thereabouts is often available. Fares, if bought in Europe for that route go for about $170-$300 all-inclusive. Also, London-Tehran can be quite cheap and Alitalia really does have great deals on that route like they do on London-Delhi.

IST-THR is the cheapest if starting from one of the three cities named in the original post. It may even be possible to fly from Istanbul to Baku to Tehran instead of on a non-stop between IST-THR.
