Leisure Dress for Yemen, Oman, Qatar, UAE

Any tips on how to dress for non-business trip to Middle East (Muscat, Sana'a, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi)? Will a few pairs of khakis and similar trousers, plus buttoned, long-sleeve shirts get me through most situations? (I won't be visiting any high-end restaurants, but will be staying at Sheratons, Hyatts and the like.) Thanks.

Will be shuffling through plenty of airport security. Thanks.
By the way, I am male.

shorts and t shirt in the beach resorts will be fine. in our offices most men wear polo shirts/short sleeved shirts as long sleeved can get hot.. so no worries about exposing your forearms !

...this is true for males of course. Females in your party, if any, would do well to forget about the shorts and short sleeves, particularly in Sana'a !
