OK I have been to Beirut a few times... so interested to hear anything useful relating to relocation/expat life. Have exhausted google and yahoo, so trying my luck here as well.

I may be going to Beirut on a business trip - obviously if you are relocating you have done some homework. Where would you point me for good info? Also, do you have safety concerns? Some of my staff are nervous.

P.S/ Go Illini!

ok, there is no real risk when travelling to beirut.. but you can always check the various government websites, however, they do paint a negative image.

frankly i have never relied on opinions of those who have no direct relevant knowledge of a situation.

if you want more specific info, eg where to stay, how to get around then send me an email and i'll share what i know.

ps. i got the job, we move in march 2006 !

Ok so you had a housewarming party in HKG back in Feb 2004. Does this mean there will be a farewell to HKG party sometime early next year

Let's get together soon soon so I can learn all about this exciting move.

Oh how appropriate timing ! You can get to BEY on BA and IB.. Malev also serves, and if GF and TK join, that'll be a few more. There are Skyteam and Star options as well..

BEY DO you say... Hmmmm... March 2006??? House warming party for GK, up in the mountains by the ski slopes of Faraya/Mzaar??? (Of course, he would have to be living in that area to be considered a proper "house warming"... or not...)

well sounds good, but we don't arrive until late march, then our shipment will probably be at least a month, so housewarming will have to be late May.. and i was planning to live nearer than the mountains !

now a weekend rental in the ski season is another idea

liana.. i have sent you some info by PM
