CAI connection (booked separately)
Hi all! I am working on booking my trip to Egypt this June and have booked my round trip flight to/from Cairo (leaving CAI at 15:40 through Lufthansa airlines). I have to book a one way flight from Hurghada to Cairo, which will be through Egypt Air. I'm wondering at what time should I plan to land in CAI from HRG to insure I have enough time to make my next flight? I will be booking these flights separately.
Will I have to go back through security, customs, etc. in CAI?
Appreciate all help.

If you have bags to check you will have to go out and collect them, then check in again. Unlikely you’ll have any interaction with customs.
On separate tickets you don’t have a connection, so missing your LH flight for whatever reason (EgyptAir flight is late or cancelled) means you’ll have to buy a new ticket. I’d allow at least four hours, possibly overnight.
