Question Stopover Ideas for Abu Dhabi

I plan to be traveling soon on Etihad with a 7+ hour stopover in AUH from 7 pm to 2-something am. I'd like to spend some of that time in the city, and was wondering which areas or landmarks would be good to visit at such late evening hours. Any ideas?
I'd also appreciate any specifics on the following subjetcs:
1. Is it correct that Etihad offers some kind of transport from and to the airport? My itinerary will be in J, if it makes any difference.
2. Are there any lockers for my carry-on bag either in the business lounges or elsewhere at the airport?
Thanks.

Mosque is open until 10pm except on Fridays. Close to airport. You can go to Emirates palace hotel after that.. some restaurants open until midnight. Back to airport.
