I have limited experience only having spent around 40 nights in Kuwait, but I did not find the sandstorms a big deal. One day they were bad enough to shut down most business for the day but I was not flying that day so do not know the effect on KWI ops. The hotel pool at the Courtyard had to close a few times for a few hours as they vacuumed up the grit.
