CAI visa

The last time I was in CAI (pre-revolution in 2010), I bought a visa on arrival from a little booth that I think was labeled "currency exchange." Is this still the way it works in CAI? I'm a US citizen.

I paid in Egyptian pounds once and US dollars on another visit.
