A great start for the new year. As of 9am this morning TLV is on strike (seems like landings are permitted)

Why does the Ben Gurion web site:

Still show flights as leaving on-time?

I had promised to drive a group of friends to TLV today (three hours from my kibbutz) and we were supposed to leave at 1 pm.

I hope I don't find myself leaving here at 2 in the morning.

I was locked up there for 7 hours couldn't even check in, it was a mad and an absolute nightmare, people sleeping on the floor, no info was given at all from anybody, flights were landing but most didn't have their luggage unloaded, no flights departured, am now waiting for my flight to depart.

To make things short: It was a horrible day!

According to the news the strike was limited to 1 day and it appears that the situation has now returned to normal. Can anyone confirm?

By 3-4 hours later most flights had managed to get out, excluding those flights which their crews went out of hours and departed only the next morning, and some airlines which returned their aircraft empty back to base before the strike had ended.
