overnight parking in DC

Any suggestions for parking my car ? I will be staying at the Fairmont on 2401 M Street NW and attending a conference at the Omni at 2500 Calvert St NW. I got great rates here for the hotel but the parking fee is putting me over budget. It is $40 a day. Is that the going rate for DC?

Sounds high to me. Check out http://washingtondc.bestparking.com/index.php
for possible alternatives. Be sure you have 24 hours access if appropriate. And be sure you have in-and-out privileges if necessary.

Most DC hotels ding you $30-$50 per day for parking but have in/out privileges. You usually can do it for less than 1/2 of that by noting what lot the hotel uses and driving there yourself but usually no in/out (leave your car at the hotel checking in spot as you observe). Otherwise find a cheap lot close by lot yourself. I never use the DC, NYC, SF etc valet or self park hotel lots.
