Philly Summer housing
A family of 5 is looking for housing in Philidelphia for the summer.
Where is a good place to look for fully furnished places for short term rentals? We are keeping an eye on Craiglist but they are great for renting rooms not 2-3 bedroom apartments.
Any suggestions where else to look?

Call a real estate agent. They also handle rentals and the fee is paid by the owner...not you.
ETA: Call a real estate agency. The bigger ones will have agents who will do rentals (not all agents are willing to do them as they tend to have lower profit for them)

don't write off craigslist. it's not just for rooms. it's also for whole apartments. I just sublet my 1bd apt for the summer through craigslist. 2bd will be tougher, but perhaps you can post under "housing wanted".
also, get in touch with universities in the area (Penn, drexel, temple). They all have office for off-campus housing and when students need to sublet their places for the summer, they will list with the office. It could be a 2-3bd shared between a few students who will all be gone from philly for their summer internships. in my experience, business school students (MBA's) and law students usually have the nicest places. you might be a little late, but good luck!

regarding RE agents - i tried to go through an agent (not in philly though) for short term let - they still wanted their full fee same as if you were signing a 12 month lease. As a landlord (and i am one), i would never pay a full fee (usually 1 month rent) for a 3-month lease. that just doesn't make sense. i still think non-official channels may be best. If you know anyone at all in the city, ask them to ask around.
another potential source are university professors (if you have any access to academic world) - many leave during summer to do research elsewhere.

Definitely, try the universities (and Philly has tons of them!) It's not too late to be able to get a sublet--when I was an MBA student at Penn, I ended up subletting my apartment in mid-May. There should be plenty of places left on the market.
