Terminal change in PHL

OK, I've got tickets for our vacation this summer to Scotland. And then they change them on me - just slightly, but now I'm concerned about connection times.

We are flying into PHL from JAX on US Airways. Looks like that means we come into Terminal B or C.

Our outgoing flight is on US Airways, but is international - could be Terminal A West or B. Obviously, Term B would be preferable, but they haven't asked me my opinion yet.

Question: We have 1 hour and 20 minutes to connect. All luggage is interlined (same ticket). Will we be OK if the flight is on time? How much leeway do we have if the flight is late? It's a 5:30pm flight out of JAX, and I know later flights are more likely to run late.

Thanks!

I dont know about the logistics of the baggage connection but it isnt far at all A-B-C they are all in a line and you can quite easily yomp them in a few minutes,

Thanks pinkcat - that's the info I was looking for. I've not been to PHL, and terminal maps seldom give scale or distances. I've run through LHR before, luggage in tow, for what seemed like 2 miles before I found my gate!

forgot to say, going the other way, arriving into PHL on BA to terminal A, immigration ,collecting baggage, leisurely stroll outside to terminal E (for a smoke) check in with SOuthwest to MCO, back to terminal D, through security and a pizza in Terminal D before the flight took 2 hours

I don't know that any European flights depart from terminal B. I think you'll be flying out of A. That said, what pinkcat told you is correct...you should be fine...although there is no 'yomping' allowed in PHL.

But I want to yomp - I live to yomp - to yomp is my heart's desire!!!

Granted Wikipedia is an iffy source, but I found this on PHL Wikipedia:

"Some domestic flights arrive and depart from Terminal A West, especially during non-peak international times (e.g. early morning). Some Terminal A West/East flights may depart from Concourse B and C)"

So, worst case is C to A West, and that not too bad. Thanks! Let's just hope the flight from JAX to PHL isn't more than an hour late :P

Wow, I actually think that going from C to A-West can be a hike, especially if it's a tight connection.

I've flown out of A-West (internationals terminal) to go to say, Bermuda or Aruba. On the way back, we did land in B or C but I believe that's because we cleared customs there rather than having to clear in PHL.

That part is kind of a pain if you park at A-West and come back into A/B/C. ABC terminals are connected inside. As I recall, once you leave the gate side of security and venture to the ticketing side, the only way to get to A-West is externally which could be problematic in inclement weather.

You, Green Dragon, will not have to deal with that aspect luckily. Do have fun!

You'll be okay as far as getting from one concourse to the other. If your flight is late, though, your baggage could be questionable. Outgoing international flights are less likely to have a late departure.
