Sheraton near DCA

I just got stuck with a one day meeting in DC next week and the best place I could find was the Sheraton on Fairfax near DCA. How does this place rate? I'm a Hilton Diamond, but the best rate they can give me is $150 over my per-diem.

Where's your meeting and where would you prefer to stay. Near DCA? Near your meeting place?

There's a Sheraton in Crystal City but it's on Eads St. (corner of 18th) I believe.

A Sheraton on Fairfax (is that the one by the Pentagon?) might not be too Metro accessable.

Do not know of a Sheraton on Fairfax (St/Dr). There is one in Fairfax County out at Tyson's Corner called Sheraton Premiere- about 10 miles out in a very busy area and you need a car.

There is also one behind the Pentagon called Sheraton National on S. Orme St. in Arlington - but not on the metro - so you need a car. Plus the one in Crystal City also in Arlington near DCA airport and on the subway line.

Good info...I'll make sure I'm at the one on the subway line. My meeting is in Crystal City...

Yes, but some of those are more conveneint to the Metro station itself than the others. One example, the Hilton is quite the walk from the Metro station and requires being outside for a brief part of the walk. For another example, the Hyatt Crystal City (i.e., the one recently shut down and cleaned up for some virus or another) runs a shuttle bus to the Crystal City metro station because the walk from the hotel lobby to the Metrorail station is not otherwise a straightforward one or entirely comfortable unless you know exactly what you are doing. That said, I've walked from the Crystal City to the Hyatt and Hilton often enough, but still would recommend something like the Marriott that is better located vis-a-vis the rail station itself.

The Sheraton National has shuttles that will take you anywhere in Pentagon City & Crystal City. You can also walk it to the Pentagon or the Pentagon City stations, but it's not a straightforward walk (and you'll need to pass under I-395 if going to Pent City). It is close to the cool new Air Force Memorial, though...

Where is the Sheraton National? I worked in CC for years and I only remeber the Sheraton on Eads and the Sheraton over by the AF Memorial and the Navy barracks.

The "Sheraton National" is actually the one on Columbia Pike, past the Navy Annex and Air Force memorial (even though the one in Crystal City is about a mile closer to the airport).
