In the late 50's(pre beltway), Tyson's corner commerce consisted of a single gas station on the corner of rt 7 & rt 123.

Never loved Dulles, not even the name.
Whenever possible, I've chosen to fly from DCA to another city in order to catch a flight overseas rather than go out of IAD.

what airports are good choices for overseas? particularly arrivals. my winter experience with JFK & Newark have been very bad. most seem to badmouth PHI.my overall experience at ATL has been unfavorable, and MIA & ORD seem to have thunderstorms all summer, and DFW/DEN is a long way in the wrong direction for europe(did I miss any? Detroit?Boston?)
