Wink Possibly in the wrong spot but still a question!

I am travelling SYD-LAX-WASHINGTON DC on QF arriving 21 Oct 06 for 4 nights. We need reasonable quality accommodation for example the Jury on Dupont Circle (I stayed there a couple of years ago and it seemed nice). We'd prefer to stay around DP Circle (with easy underground access). Thanks in advance for any hotel ideas.

If it is better that this post be moved, pls feel free to do it.

I believe this belongs to the Washington DC area forum.

There are several areas in and around DC with excellent
public transportation.

Here is a site where you can find the transit maps:
http://www.wmata.com/

You can also choose to stay near DCA with a good access to the
transit.

I like to stay outside of DC, in Crystal City, quiet at night, easy access to the underground, and a simple train ride to anywhere.

There are Hiltons, Crown Plaza's Holiday Inns etc out that way. It is real close to DCA (5 min shuttle)

Thats me.

If price is a big factor, I would look at the Priceline bid tracking sites like biddingfortravel or betterbidding and see what is coming up in DC around your travel dates. All the hotels they as having been won in the past for the Dupont-Woodley Park zone are pretty decent in terms of location and comfort. Examples include the Marriott Wardman Park and Westin Embassy Row which people won in the $70 range in September.

www.priceline.com is definitely the way to go, but it might require a bit of game playing.

You can do a lot better than Jury's.

I'm a Priceline guy, but if you're not try these guys for a little character: http://www.kimptondchotels.com/?cid=goo.

I like the Topaz (at Dupont Circle).
