BWI and Baltimore

Thinking about a day trip to Baltimore before my flight home on Monday (currently in DC). A couple questions....

1) How far is downtown Baltimore to BWI? And how would I get there? (Flight takes off at 130pm, but will attempt to VBD)

2) What is there to do in BWI on a Sun night/Labor Day Monday morning? (Never been to Baltimore before).

Thanks!

EDIT: I meant to say "what is there to do in BALTIMORE (not airport) on sun/mon?" but also good to know if i can stand hanging out at BWI itself ^

Balt is about 10 miles from BWI. I presume the light rail will be running on those days. Costs next to nothing, and runs from downtown balt to BWI.

At bwi, I think you have a choice of fast foods, and bars. Few newspaper stands also.

do not know what VBD is.

VDB = voluntary denied boarding = bump

Plenty to do on a Sunday night in Baltimore -- lots of dinner options and activities around the Inner Harbor and immediate surrounding areas.

In terms of Monday morning (Labor day), not sure what will be open. The main tourist attractions at the Inner Harbor are the National Acquarium, Maritime Musuem/USS Constellation, or a boat ride out to Ft. McHenry. But there are also a lot of other cool places within walking distance like the Babe Ruth Musuem (if you are a baseball fan). Other cool places are the Edgar Allan Poe House or B&O Railroad musuem, but those will require a cab ride and not sure you would have time.

Here is a list of major attractions -- http://www.ci.baltimore.md.us/visitor/

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. Anyway, for future reference.

The light rail runs 7am - 11pm on Saturdays and 11:00am - 7:00pm on Sundays.

Once at the Inner Harbor (short walk from camden Yards) buy a water taxi ticket and go to either Fell's Point or Canton. If you have never been to the Inner Harbor it is nice to walk around but you'll find better food and better prices in Canton or Fell's Point. Plus, they are really neat areas to walk around .... lots more atmosphere. You can also stop at the fort if you like that sort of thing.
