I really like the place. We have had a number of "bring your own" parties there with 6-8 people, and 10-15 bottles of wine. They wall off the South end for us. Separate menu for bar, with lots of smalls. Nice outdoors.
Many restaurants in DC are dominated by a name brand chef. This place seems to go through chefs to have a new one each time I have been there.
I would recommend you walk 10 blocks east, and eat at Signatures. My current downtown favorite.(901 Penn ave).

I've had several good business lunches at the Oval Room and always happy. I would also agree with the above poster on Signature's...very nice place. I'm also a fan of TenPenh which is near Sigs and also quite good, in my opinion...
