I use Ampco when forced to fly from PHL. Although I haven't used any of the other off airport lots, it seems Ampco is by far the most convenient. Who knows what the situation will be though when construction on the runway 18/36 extension project begins, this will close done huge chunks of access roadway, including carving up the airport economy lot. I have no idea how anyone is going to reroute the traffic.

Off Site Parking at Philly airport

Looking for an update from the regular philly parkers on the best rates for off-site parking. I need an 8 day park in November so I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

where do you live? If you live in Delco or Phila itself, why not just take a taxi? probably the same price and the taxi stand is right outside the terminal.

I park at some place off the Cargo City exit on 95 North, but I don't remember what the name of the lot is.. been a while since I parked there.

Many airport hotels often have "stay and park" rates ie one night you stay at the hotel and parking is included for 7-14 nights in the overall cost. The PHL Microtel Motel has this but itsa dump but you can save real money. Sometimes these are listed on their website but usually it pays to call the hotel directly. The PHL Hampton Inn also has this deal as well as the PHL Ramada Hotel (a dump).

If you live in DE or the nearby PA or NJ counties many shuttle services are available for home to airport travel.

Google PHiladelphia Airport Ramada. Pretty good parking and continuous shuttles. Usually a printable coupon online. I wouldn't stay overnight, but I used them for parking without a problem.

Parking expectations at PHL these days?

I'm talking about the airport lots, not the private off-airport ones. I have a one-day trip to make next Thursday, flying out on US (Terminal F) at 7:40 AM. Anyone have a good idea of what my chances of getting a parking spot in the E or C lot would be? I've been locked out of the PHL lots before, and don't want to chance that happening again. If I hear enough warnings I will just go ahead and make a reservation at Priority Parking, although for a one-day trip this is kind of a pain.

Do any of the parking lots in PHL (on- or off-airport) offer any sort of a grace period for exceeding 24 hours?

As an example, I will be arriving at 5PM one day, but leaving at 7PM the next day. Many parking lots at EWR give you a 3-hour 'grace period,' where I would not be charged for another day until 8PM that day (5PM + 3 hour 'grace period'). Do any PHL parking lots offer a similar policy?

I would be very wary of parking a relatively new car with out-of-town license plates in South or SW Philly unless it was as beat up as most of the cars usually parked there. Car break ins are way too common in crime-ridden Philly.

As I remember many lots charge about a 1/3 of the daily rate for every hour until the full day rate is reached. I cant ever remember a freebie hour or two.

I called at least 6 lots and they all said the samething, Nada.

then I called the Airport authority and they too said onc eyou go over the 24 hr period you must pay for another full day. I guess till they change the ways they do biz, all the private lots will follow them

Thumbs down Fast Track-North

Should have known better its an old AviStar!

Dropped my car off Sun at 12:40pm called them at 12:10pm today, was stamped out at 12:34pm. Charged for 5 days. was told its not per 24hrs but per day, you dropped off on Sun,picked up on Thurs thats 5 days.

Then told I dropped it off at 1:30am on Sun! They dont Date Stamp the tkt and will write down any time they want to. My tkt had written on it (the part they keep) Will pick up at Noon ,I told them 12:30pm, also had I dropped it off at Noon and not 12:40pm like I did. Since I checked out of my hotel at 11:40pm up by Sesame Place area its at best 40 mins to PHL no way to m ake it in 20 mins.

To make matters worse theres a $2 Fuel Surcharge on my bill, no notice of this fee anywhere on their property whatsoever.

This place is running 1 big Scam stay away and far away at that.

Update: just wanted to let all know that I did in fact receive a refund for 1 day of parking and tax along with the $2 fuel surcharge that wasnt posted anywhere, as jane the CSR mgr I spoke to at Corp said I would

Avistar is now Fasttrack and I am now parked in their south lot and will get my car tomorrow if NW is on schedule. I saw nothing re a "fuel surcharge" when I dropped it off and previously scanned their crappy website (BTW: they have a downloadable $1/day coupon at www.fasttrack.com ). Since the upturn traffic at PHL do to SW the Philly parking lots are getting very full and the employees get sometimes nasty. I quickly quit arguing with the usually dumb-n-empowered employees and dispute the bill later with AMEX.
