DC Restaurants?
I'm going to DC in a couple weeks and am taking some friends out with me. Any recent restaurant suggestions?
What about Vidalia? I am looking for some New American, Italian or Latin food (no Asian food - one of my friends doesn't like this kind of food).
Thanks in advance.

Vidalia was one of my favorites. It was/is being remodled. Be certain it is open. Jeff Buben has a second restaurant, and is not there all the time any more.
Tyler Cowen's list covers most everything in the lower price brackets.
In the upper brackets, I think Zagat is relatively accurate, excluding Kinkead, Taberna, and RRRRRoberta Donna. Not that impressed with Nora, either.
Andale is nuevo latin, and may still have great wine values on Mon. at half price nite.
Ortanique is Tues 1/2 price wine nite, and is Nuevo Carribean(sorta latin)
Jaleo is great Tapas food, but very noisy.
Obelisk is my favorite Italian.
For New American Melrose, or Marcel's(also noisy)or DC Coast(can be noisy). Have not been to Seasons since the new chef arrived.
Gerard's is called New Frence, but plays the same as New American, with more Foie Gras. Free corkage on Monday last time I was there.
