Choice between 2 Westins !
I'm flying to Washington on the beginning of April and I would like to stay at one of the WESTIN properties. My problem is that there are two properties on Washington the Westin Grand and The Westin Embassy Row. I'm just wondering which one would be the better one?

The Westin Grand is in West End (Georgetown lite), so it's fine if that's where want to stay; to me, Georgetown is a ratty tourist trap with minimal interest beyond a couple of restaurants and shops.
The Westin Embassy is right off Dupont Circle and is a very fine hotel. It is closer to everything than the Georgetown location. In the useless trivia dept., the Westin Embassy is a former Ritz Carlton property and is also where Al Gore & family lived when his father served in Washington.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Flueggi and Aqualung!
You are currently in the major section of FlyerTalk thatis called 'FlyerTalk Travel'. One of the other major sections, called 'FlyerTalk Miles', contains a forum dedicated to questions about Starwood properties, including the two Westins you are discussing.
Since that forum is much more active than this one, I suggest that you look for answers there (I'll put a link to the forum at the end of this message).
Because your question has come up multiple times in the Starwood forum, I strongly recommend that you do use the search function to find those existing responses and look them over before posting a new inquiry. Unlike some Internet boards, the search function on FlyerTalk works very well (and is fast, too)
But please don't hesitate to post questions if search doesn't fully answer your questions
As a sample, I've also added a couple of links showing some of the past threads I mentioned above.
Glad to have you both aboard!
