Kid Friendly "luxury" accessible to NYC and DC for long weekend?

Looking for some ideas for a weekend getaway spot within drive or short flight of both NY and DC to get a few families together. Think sea island/cloister, broadmoor, sagamore, lake oconee, etc. Kids range from 5 y/o to newborn. Ideal is pool resort/lake/ocean. Bonus points for marriott but not required.

Deep Creek Lake in MD; Seven Springs, PA. Some of the West Virginia locations around the New River Gorge Bridge/Gauley River - but that is a 6-hr drive from DC area. Look at the Delaware beaches (Rehobeth, Dewey). Lots of places around the Chesapeake Bay - St Michael's, Annapolis, etc. I hate to mention Ocean ......, oops, City, but just south of OC is Chincoteague Island which is fantastic - and you might well get lucky with a rocket launch from next door Wallops Island. Berkely Springs, WV. The Homestead in VA, or the Greenbrier in WV is most like Sagamore and world class resorts.

Not for the newborn, but for the other kids, Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos? It's a high end water park indoors.
