Annapolis day trip

We're heading to DC on April 6-9 in hopes of catching the cherry blossom. Have a pretty packed schedule on 6,7 and 8th, but the 9th is free. Since we're flying out of BWI we thought it might be a good idea to rent a car and take a short day trip to Annapolis. We're hoping to "catch" the new crab season's catch and whatever else the food/tourist scene of Annapolis has to offer. Don't have a lot of time, we can be there as early as 9 AM and have to leave by 1:30 or so.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Don't bother with crabs in MD this time of year--it's way too early in the season. If you go for crabs now, the ones you'll be served are from down south, like Louisiana. Not worth it. Baltimore is a lot more interesting than Annapolis (except for the latter's nautical scenery), so if you're flying out of BWI, might as well go there. Way better food to be had, also.

Annapolis is nice, but I agree that Baltimore will be more interesting and will have more food options.

I think the naval academy grounds are interesting. There's a small museum of military history. More importantly, the setting is stunning, especially at dusk. The town has a historic downtown area. There are also some decent restaurants.

Since time is kinda short and no local crabs we've decided on Baltimore.
