dc mall fireworks viewing

the "weekend" section of the wash post has a list of available rooftops for viewing. there are also a couple of cruise boats that park in the correct place.

We always went to the area in front of the Wash Monument. Enough space, and right under the fireworks. Security screening slows things down a bit, but not that much.

We'd always arrive 1/2 hour or so before the show, not making a day out of it, and would work our way out as the show ends.

Be aware that the weather forecast is dicey for Monday evening. The fireworks may be coming from the clouds not the ground.

Actually, for the home viewers watching on PBS, the fireworks were actually coming from a videotape.

You could tell that quite easily. Video of the fireworks facing the monument from the capital which showed the concert was very different from the video facing the capital. It was very clear that it was video from another year.

Nebula?

We watched from the roof of my apartment building -- usually a great view, couldn't see it at all.
