I'm thinking of taking kids down to Ocean City next summer. I've noticed that rental rates decrease sharply after 8/17. Anybody know why? Mid August is still prime summer as far as I know.

Because in many southern states kids go back to school mid August, hence late August is no longer prime summer.

Thanks. That makes sense and makes it more attractive for me. Up this way they go back around the very end of August.
