I am trying to decide between the Phillips collection and Newseum. Any insights?

The Phillips has an excellent art collection, with particular strength in Impressionists and German artists. The Newseum has quite a number of interactive exhibits, so in that regard, it's unlike an art museum and more like a science museum. There's a fantastic view of the area from an upstairs-terrace. The Phillips will probably attract an older crowd (though it does put on events to attract families), while the Newseum is more likely to be family and kid-filled. Have you considered Hillwood? It's one of my favorites. You'd need to visit on Saturday, though, as it'll be closed this Sunday.
