Early flight from IAD

Early flight from IAD
I am on a UA flight Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. from IAD-SFO connecting to KIX. Somehow it seems a bit early to show up at 4 a.m. (is anyone even there at that time)? Anyone with experience for an early flight? What is a reasonable time to show up at IAD? Thanks.

a few years back, we did that. dropped off wife. no one at the counters. parked car in the outback lot. waited well over 30 min for bus. but must have covered every stop in every lot. got to terminal at about 530am, and barely made plane.

Be forewarned that if for some reason you need to check luggage or deal with a CSR at the counter, the lines can be astounding because there are many early AM flights. Lines at the checkpoint back up too.
