Extended Smithsonian hours; NASM?

Does anyone happen to know if/when extended hours for the NASM on the Mall will be released, particularly for April?

Thanks in advance.

Extended Hours

I found this on the NASM website (http://airandspace.si.edu/visit/hours_extended.cfm). It is not posted on the www.si.edu Extended Calendar, yet.

The National Mall Building
in Washington, DC will be open extended hours during the Spring/Summer of 2013:

10:00 am to 7:30 pm
Every day, March 20 - April 14.
Fridays and Saturdays only, April 19 - May 18.
Every day, May 24 - September 2.

The Museum will close at 5:30 pm all other days. In addition, the Museum will close early on selected dates during the extended hours period, due to scheduled evening events. The following list of early closings will be updated as information becomes available.

Not dates for early closings were listed.

In addition, the Udvar-Hazy center will have some extended hours:

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
in Chantilly, VA will be open extended hours during the Summer of 2013:

10:00 am to 6:30 pm
Every day, May 24 - September 2.

The Udvar-Hazy Center will close at 5:30 pm all other days. In addition, the Museum will close early on selected dates during the extended hours period, due to scheduled evening events.

Magnificent.....thanks very much. ^

I was watching the extended hours calendar and didn't think to check the main museum page!

Will be flying in on a Friday in April, so this will mean I can drop the bags and head straight there for a few hours of fun. I'm heading out later in the week on a late flight so can get to Udvar-Hazy for normal times......must remember to use a small case so I can get it in the lockers!!

Udvar-Hazy has two sizes of lockers: 17x17x17 (inches), and 17x17x35 (inches). You need a quarter to use the locker - and the quarter is returned when you empty the locker.

Again, thanks for the helpful information. I planned to travel with a small backpack for carry-on and a small carry-on size case in the hold, so it looks like fitting in these lockers will be no problems...

Sequestration could kill this plan or restrict it to weekend days only.

Guess we'll see what happens. Is this now in effect and unavoidable? (Over on the other side of the pond, so it's not as immediately covered over here.)

My distal understanding from over here was the SI had said hours would not be cut, at least for this FY, i.e. until 30th September.......

Just a note to thank all for their input into this; made both the NASM on the Mall and the Udvar-Hazy Center. The carry-on bag needed to be expanded by a couple of inches depth-wise to fit in the stuff I picked up along the way on my visit, but the lockers held it easily, along with my flight bag.

Talking to one of the senior staffers, the feeling I got was that sequestration would unlikely hit services this year, but opening times etc after September remained uncertain.
