Desperate for hotel recommendations NY

I'm staying in NY 18-23 January. But haven't booked a room yet!
What would be my best options?
-use priceline(never used it, not sure about using it)
-use IHG friends and family rates(I'm platinum @Priority Club)
-use Hilton Hotel chain for booking(I have gold status)

Any feedback aprreciated ^

I had priced out hotels in case my apartment in NYC would not go through and I needed a back-up plan. They are not nearly as bad now as they were before the holidays (several under $200/night).

What area of town will you be in? People can be of more help if they know where you are trying to go.

That said, not a huge fan of Priceline. I've had too many bad experiences due to bookings off that site.

You're arriving in under 2 days and you have no hotel? It's a good thing this is the quiet time of year.

Priceline it. I've had great success with it especially on last minute trips. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com to see what the successful bids are and then make your own. Since there are a plentiful number of good regions, you should do well.

Made a booking via lmtclub.com. Tought I'd get a room. Didn't realise that it's on request. When was on the plane had a Sold Out email.
So booked holiday inn that was close and radisson on Broadway using points.
Still need a room from 22-26.01.
Tried priceline but can't change the country when going to checkout.
I'm based in the UK.

There is an Element in Times Square which had a rate of about $170/night when my coworker looked a few days ago. It also had plenty of availability through the end of the month.
