Advice/Ideas for a road trip needed!

Manhattan?
How about Manhattan? It's a relatively short drive to the Statan Island ferry (you can park cheaply near there for a day or two) and loads of things to see or do for all tastes.
Albany: from Philly 5 to 6 hours on the road easily. I've done that drive 3 times recently and with the summer road construction, it's miserable.
