Are Concourse C and D (Dulles) connected?

Are concourses C and D at Dulles connected? Just curious.

Yes. They are the same concourse, labeled C on one side and D on the other. As Clacko notes, this sort of information is available on IAD airport maps available on Google as well as any of the carriers which serve IAD.

I'm planning to fly from Dulles to Portland, Oregon, via Denver. Is it possible for me to take the AeroTrain to Concourse C and then walk through Concourse C to get to Concourse D, just in case my gate is there? I really don't like the mobile lounges.

That's easily doable, it will just take you more time to make that walk (~10-15 minutes extra)
