no shuttle A-B the last time i was there, and the walk is a long one.
why would you expect a zoo? the only crowds i have ever seen at the gates is for the flights to south america at pier 3 in the morning. those can be avoided by checking through B and riding the shuttle over.

Right. I was trying to figure out if I could go to the United Club which used to be the Continental club by the CO gates and then cut back to A without having to go through security. Looks like the answer is "no"--which is what I thought.
I was worrying about a zoo as it's a late afternoon flight around the time of several other late afternoon flights, all by LCC's---expecting slow security lines due to less frequent fliers.

at DCA the big crowd i have seen is in the am at term C. i have been told they are going to MIA to get to central and south america.
last week, my wife flew DCA-BDL and ret. the flight was posted to be in terminal C. following my advice, she cleared at B, and the SHUTTLED to C. after waiting until about 20 min before the flight, she realized no airplane. the flight had been moved to terminal B. she SHUTTLED back from C to B, and caught her plane. the shuttle is on the tarmac, and requires down and up a set of temp iron stairs. not a problem for most, but my wife is over 65, and no assistance is offered with luggage.

Also, things will also be a bit different as of a few weeks ago when US took over all of the B terminal as well (UA moved out to join the exCO gates at A).
