Taxi Cab or pay during the reservation?
I am booking a hotel to Edenh Luxury Riviera Cancun. From the description:
They are offering hotel - airport transportation for 48 per person. There are 2 of us, so it would be 100 per person. Would we be able to take a taxi for cheaper, or should I book this option.
Thanks
is located next to the charming town of Puerto Morelos on the north side of the area known as Riviera Maya, just 12 miles south of the Cancun International Airport.
Thanks

I use Brant's service at http://www.entertainment-plus.net/tour_transport.cfm. Cost $79 rt for 1-3. Have used him for years. Always dependable.

Not at all. It is cheap for a round trip to Puerto Morelos. OP was quoted $48 per person or $96 for two - and I am not even sure if that was round trip.
Entertainment-plus cost for a round trip to Cancun's hotel zone for 1 to 3 is just $55.
This is a private car or van, not shared transportation. It will be waiting for you at the airport even if your flight is hours late or the customs' lines long and slow moving.
Show me something cheaper for three (into Cancun there is a $50 round trip for two). And this is a company that has been there for years and is well recommended.

The use of such services simplifies matters as there is someone waiting for users as they exit the terminal. Traveling with three, we can fit in a standard taxi and could save a few dollars using a shared van to Cancun and taxi back to the airport. But we are on vacation and the convenience is worth the extra $8.
As far as dollars and pesos go, I too prefer people that quote in pesos. But I rarely have pesos with me on arrival and do not trust the airport exchange rates. Better to pay in dollars and get to an atm after I reach our resort.
