Travel inside Mexico

Hi,
Planning a few weeks vacation in Mexico and need some help.
What is a normal, el cheapo fare, for domestic flights in Mexico?
We are flying MEX-PVR and CUN-MEX.
Should it be an idea to by a mexipass, if those are availeble?
Should I buy the tickets before we leave, or is it cheaper to buy over the counter in Mexico? (going on UA from ARN to MEX)

cheers
Magnus

To fly within Mexico there are a few major airlines:
Mexicana (gain AA miles or Frecuenta),
Aeromexico (allied with the Sky Team),
AeroCarribe (part of Mexicana/ Aeromexico but you'll gain full miles depending on which airline you buy the ticket from)
Aeroliteral (part of Aeromexico)

Flights are about US$85 - $100 each way... which I think is about the same as the airpass per leg... I think it will come out to be about the same and if you can book online with any of the above airlines.
There are a couple more, but these are the main ones with the most schedules..
hope this helps your planing.

let me know if you have more questions as I travel there frequently b/c of my business.

Thanks for your help Sargento.
The tickets turned out to be about 120 USD both online and with the local Mexicana agent.

I probably forgot to add the taxes.. it also all depends on dates and flights you take, but I think it's cheaper than the airpass...

If you have more questions, let me know and I'll try and answer them..

cheers
