Cabo Water Temps during Christmas

Hey guys,

We are deciding between Cabo and Puerto Vallarta during Christmas time. Our family loves to swim and hence we understand that Puerto Vallarta has warmer sea temperatures, but this year we heard there is El Nino which should warm up the Cabo waters.

Anyone been to Cabo during El Nino? How were the water temps?

Mike Doyle's Surf School states the sea temp at Cabo San Lucas in generally 73 F in January; with the El Nio Southern Oscillation developing strongly, it could peak above 75 and even to 78, if the 3 degrees Celsius at the most affected areas occur. Rain quantity could be increased significantly (visibility diminished).

Puerto Vallarta (slide scale to see later months)

Code:
Jan	Feb	Mar	Apr	May	Jun	Jul	Aug	Sep	Oct	Nov	Dec
C 25	24	24	24.5	26	27,5	29	29,5	29	28,5	27,5	26
F 77	75	75	76	79	81	84	85	84	83	81	79
Puerto Vallarta sea temps would increase significantly as well.
