Why sudden fare increase to Mexico

Yesterday there were several flights to MEX from CHM (Columbus Int'l, Ohio) at $419. Today (April 2) the same flights are around $600. Can anyone explain? Thanks.

Someone else bought the cheaper seats or the airline decided to stop selling them. Or a minimum advance purchase window expired.

When is the travel and what is the airline?

Welcome to FT! I'm going to move this over to our Mexico forum, where the regulars there might have some insight.

Yes, the relatively few lower-priced seats sold-out is probably the right answer. Airfares to Mexico have, for the past 6 months or so risen sharply, just as fares on many routes, to many other destinations have.
