Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
- In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
- You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

Hi Marriott Rewards, I have been a loyal platinum member for 7 years and lifetime gold with SPG.
Last week had my first stay in a hotel from the Marriott Group, The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, did not get any recognition to my status. No breakfast, no upgrade, no lounge, not even water in the room.
Today I wanted to use points on Howard 11 in New York, turns out that I have to pay 30USD per night on top of my points.
After reading about this promotion I have made up my mind, I won't be chasing lifetime platinum anymore. I spends my remaining points and move to Hyatt.
It has been great staying with SPG, thanks but time to move on now.

Thanks Lurker! I called the Marriott Plat line, punch in my SPG member #, about 5 min hold, a nice young lady answered, listened to my request, and in 2 seconds, she told me I was registered despite trying multiple times on the website with failure. Hung up, refreshed my app and profile, promo did not show.
Waited about 12 hours, promo is now showing.. So I can verify, it's probably a one off system glitch that is preventing sign up on the customer end. Call and you shall receive!
FYI: Prior to the Marriott Plat line, I called the SPG CS line, wait was more than 15 mins, so I hung up. The Marriott line might seem like shorter wait times.

My very sincere apologies to everyone - this community and my Marriott colleagues - for having stirred the pot. That did no one any good, including adding any polish to my own credibility.

How do cash+points stays factor into this promotion? Not clear to me if these are considered "award" stays (and therefore excluded) or not. If excluded from the 2 night minimum bonus, are they perhaps included the brand bonus?

I cannot register using my old MR account. It was the same problem with the last promo. Using the new account (ex SPG), the registration went through.
Strange..... I geuss I shoudl keep the new account as the old account seems crappy.

I think it should be from first stay as long as 2 nights and more.
only the brand promo starts from 2nd brand
so you will get 17k

Seems clear here. The brand promo starts on the second stay but not the 2000 pt promo. Only need one night for the brand promo.

Actually I really do not know why Marriott makes it complicated. They should break it into 3 promos
- multi brands
- 2+ nights/stay
- sweepstake
