Gold Question?

IS there any way to findout when my gold status is good thru> My account shows gold because of the Taste of Gold Promo. Looking at my account I have 32 nights YTD. From July-Decemebr last year I have 15 nights credited plus should have 10 nights from my Marriott Visa. If a rolling calendar is used, I shuld have gold status. I have a big award trip planned to Europe late this summer and status would help. Is there a number ot call or e-mail to be able to check on your status.

A simple call to Marriott Rewards will answer your question. Check the number on your card.

Is Marriott not using the rolling 12 month calendar anymore for stautus? Just called and was told I would need another 9 nights (have 3 nights since promo started) for gold status before the Taste of Gold Promo ends, even though on a 12 month basis I have 57 nights.

rolling or not?

I have the same question. I found this on their website which would lead one to believe that it's a calendar year requirement ...

Elite Membership Requirements

1. Only nights personally stayed and individually billed at participating hotels are credited toward Elite membership and renewal. Accounts may not be combined to achieve Elite membership.

2. To achieve or renew Elite status, the following number of personal nights must be stayed between January 1 through December 31 of any given year at participating locations:

Silver 10 to 49 nights
Gold 50 to 74 nights
Platinum 75 or more nights

Hello,

The way that the program calculates the nights depends on whether you are achieving or renewing.

We use the rolling window when achieving Gold or Platinum levels, so your nights do not all drop off at the end of the year.

We use the calendar year when looking at the number of nights you have stayed when you are renewing your elite status.

I hope this helps-

Regards,

Kate

Kate,

1. Where can we find more details about this on marriott.com?

2. Especially about how long elite level status is good for when earned on the rolling year? (Kind of like the OP's question)

3. Even more specifically if one earns Gold or Plat via the rolling calendar on January 15, 2010; then is their status good through Feb 29, 2012 or Feb 28, 2011? How about if one earns it via the rolling calendar on October 15, 2010; then is their status good through Feb 29, 2012 or Feb 28, 2011?

I'm sure the web site has all of these details, so your answer to question 1 may well lead to the answers to the other questions.

Thanks

I am currently temporary gold due to the Taste of Gold Promo. I have never had gold status before. YTD I have 32 nights credited. July 2008-December 2008 I had 15 nights credited plus 10 nights for the Marriott Visa, which should put me over 50 nights on a rolling year basis. I called the rewards desk yesterday to ask about my gold status and the rep said it would expire on July 31 unless I stay another 6 nights before then.( I have 3 nights credited already for the Taste of Gold Promo). Usually I wouldn't care about the status but I have a 2 week award trip planned to Europe the end of the summer and the gold status would be nice. Is there anyone to call to find out my definitive status. I also received the June 2009 Marriott Rewards newsletter recently which showed Gold Elite Level through 2/28/10- even though it showed only 8 nights YTD credited.

Hello,

I don't believe that the web site has any information about how to achieve a Gold or Platinum Elite level or when you achieve how long that status will be valid for. So let me make an attempt to answer your questions about the expiration dates.

When you achieve a Gold or Platinum level that status will be valid for the rest of year that you achieved the level plus one year. All expiration dates on the cards will be February of the expiration year.

The exception to this is- if you achieve Gold or Platinum in January the status will be valid for the rest of that year with the expiration date February of the following year.

So if you achieve on October 15, 2010 your status will expire in Feb 2012. If you achieve on January 15, 2010 your status would expire February 2011.

Regards,

Kate
