Booking EEO BOGO - Timing and Method Question

I booked a weekend trip at a Renaissance under the Global Rate Break promotion earlier this month. This is for late July.

MC has stated that the EEO BOGO works with the Global Rate Break. What concerns me are 2 things:

1 - I booked myself on the website instead of calling the Plat line
2 - I booked it before the late June-October BOGO certificates showed up online (since the Global Rate Break would not be available after 6/2)

Would I have problem using it?

Part of the reason that caused the worry is the EEO BOGO term that says "A limited number of rooms are available for this promotion. Certain blackout dates may apply." If the regular rate is bookable on the web and you can just book and use the BOGO, why would this show up on the T&C?

Thanks.

I used a (gifted) EEO BOGO last weekend with an already booked (GRB) rate in SF. Called elite services the day before to confirm that it would be valid. The CSR read through the T&Cs with me, okay'd it and said she put a note in the rez.

At check-in, the front desk agent pored over the cert (numerous times it was almost comical), was unsure if the hotel participated, excused himself to check with a manager, came back to say they did not, but were going to make an exception. Of course, I explained that I'd confirmed with MR CSR by phone.

Got up to my room and minutes later the fd agent called to say it was indeed a participating hotel and all was fine.

Give MR a call. Good luck!

As noted, you shouldn't have a problem.

On a side note, it's always better to include the name and/or location of the exact property when one posts a question.
