2 room types in one res?
Hello FT'ers, got quick question of a scenario I have not yet faced. I called to modify a reservation (I need to add a few nights before and after) but my current room type is sold out, and adding the nights would require a separate reservation as I am told there can only be one room type in each reservation (and of course at a different rate).
Has anyone had any luck working around this? Can I just create the reservation and ask to downgrade when I arrive so I can stay in the same room during my entire stay? It would be an inconvenience to go back and forth from one room to another, all while at the same property!
Thanks in advance

It would seem that you have no choice but to make seperate reservations. The few times I have done this, the front desk has always combined them into 1 room at check-in. However, they have no obligation to do so.
