Me and Mr. Marriott
So I was at Canyon Villas last week and as I enter the lobby notice all the staff lined up in a receiving line.
Thought it was maybe something new for the welcome breakfast for owners - but instead they were there to meet Mr. M himself.
So being the Marriott Geek I am, ran back to the villa and grabbed my camera.
Though he was being hurried by his escort, he stopped and took time for the picture.
Manager also used her camera and e-mailed me a picture in case mine did not come out.
So here I am with the Man. And no, I did not ask him if he was going to fix the rewards program.

I've had the pleasure to cross paths with him twice. Both times, he genuinely seemed as interested to talk to me as I was to talk to him.

Nice photo rthib & a neat experience indeed.
We meet him a few years back at the MVC Ocean Pointe resort when he drops by for a quick look see. The associates were all lined up and he poses for a few photos with them. His arrival was low key, despite all of the excitement by the associates anxious to meet the boss. Marriott pride was definitely showing that day.
My wife and I went up to him and shook hands and we thank him for the solid hotel and timeshare products. His reply is to thank us for being MVC owners. His personal assistant stands nearby and he takes note of the Pittsburgh Steelers hat I'm wearing. He chuckles and says to Mr. Marriott that I would be OK if not for the Steelers hat I'm wearing. Marriott nods and smiles -- he's a huge Redskins fan.
The excitement and dedication of the employees and his own earthy, subdued demeanor basically speaks to the integrity of the company and the man. He is clearly focused upon the customer and the product. That's why we stick with both the MVC and the hotel products.

Kudos to Mr. Marriot for posing with and speaking to the OP!^
Its moments like this that make or break you as a customer.
I don't know how many of you would still stay at Marriott if Mr. Marriott refused to ackowledge you for 20 seconds.
