Getting points from someone else's stays ?

Hi,

I travel a lot with work and often with my boss. for some reason, he seems to refuse to join MR (I achieved 75 nights last year and so did he) so it is really stupid on his behalf; however, can i claim his nights/points from the past 6 months and get the credits on my account?

I know this works if you book future reservations but for past claims?

Thanks,
Sebastien

By chance did you pay for both your boss's and your rooms? If you have the receipts showing your CC as payment, you might be able to get some points. But if your boss paid for his own room, then you are probably out of luck.

https://www.marriott.com/rewards/terms/earning.mi

A member is eligible to receive points/miles for staying at participating Marriott Rewards hotels for his/her guestroom and up to two additional rooms. At least one of the rooms must be reserved and registered in the member's name and the member must pay for all rooms, which must be requested at time of hotel check-in. The member must also stay in one of the rooms. To ensure points are automatically posted to member's account, the member's Marriott Rewards number must be present on his/her guest room folio and up to two additional rooms, as applicable.

One thing for the past points.... (though risks your boss getting his own points rather than letting you get them if he likes what happens)

1 - Tell your boss you want to set him up a MR account.... do that for him (if he is concerned around his privacy you could use mostly your contact details, but make sure the name is right)
2 - Send in all the 6 months of receipts / hotel stays for that account
3 - Impress your boss by telling him either that he can now stay for X days free on holiday (or give the stays as gifts to anyone he wants - as MR points can be used for anyone, not just for the member). Suggestions could be some form of staff recognition or reward for good service. Alternatively you could use those points for business trips for a day or two rather than paying $ for your stays- showing you're saving his bottom line too :P (Still pay for your room of course for your points )

Just a suggestion, a less scrupulous person might 'forget' to tell their boss if doing something similar and gift themselves the points, however I'd see it as a good 'value add' opportunity for you!
