While there may be no definitive answer, I tend to believe Socrates on this one, he generally knows what he's talking about. Also if you're looking for a definitive answer, then I agree with Sharon that it's best to contact corporate offices.

Anyone know if Bill Marriott would allow my company to drill in ANWAR? Does he support bringing my nephew home from Iraq? What's his position on tax cuts? I might make my hotel decision based on any or all of the above.

Sorry. I meant to say the MR part of FT.

I just found it ridiculous to start a thread on unsubstantiated rumor that was going to delve into a political diatribe from which everyone would sound off on.

Well I heard the Marriotts are hiding the aliens that escaped from Area 51 after the Roswell crash.

Wait a minute...wrong rumor. The aliens ended up running TSA.

Marriott offers domestic partner benefits to their associates and is generally recognized to be a "gay-friendly" company. Who cares if the CEO supported prop 8? He is a private citizen, and his private life shouldn't matter. It's what he does in public and what he does with his company (which is give domestic partner benefits, has diversity training, a 100% score with HRC, etc.) that should matter.

Boycotting Marriott because the CEO gave personal $$ to support prop 8 would be like your boss firing you because you gave personal $$ to Obama. It just doesn't make sense.

My $$ will be staying at Marriott regardless of the CEO's personal stand on the issue.

Not Marriott Rewards!!!

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the Marriott Rewards program and, much worse, speculates about the views of people we don't know based on their religious beliefs. Good grief! Say good night. Thread locked.
