What's a good weekday code?
My usual favorites (XML and LPR) don't seem to yield a lot of results anymore... I'm trying to get something in downtown Cleveland on Oct 13th under $150 but the Key is apparently sold out and the Ren is coming in at $170.
Same is the case with Seattle next weekend. Rates just don't seem like they used to be.

You are right! LPR for the FairField Inn Chicago, Tinley park, comes up $9999.95 a NIGHT!

room rate challenge
You might book the room and then search around for a lower rate for the same hotel online. When you find one, submit to MR for price match. Sometimes booking separate nights rather than a few in a row will yield different results.
