Consecutive award redemption for different room types

We're trying to stay a full week, and have a 2br upgrade available for 4 of the 7 days, and a standard hotel room available the other three. The upgrade is a standard certificate plus four upgrade certificates.

I asked Marriott Rewards to issue a 7 day award certificate and then the 4 upgrade certificates, however they said since the room type is different they would have to issue one certificate for four days, one for three days and then four upgrades - this of course nullifies the benefits of staying 7 consecutive days (which reduces total points).

I'm considering calling the hotel, if so any recommendations on how to approach the hotel about possibly releasing 3 upgrade nights? (this stay is during off-season)

Any other suggestions?

Would you mind PMing or emailing me your confirmation number so that I may double-check this information?

Best regards,

Drew
