Signed up for promotion, how do I create account??
I signed up for a promotion and was given this in an email...

Those >> 's are where the hyperlinks are. Marriott has no record of me having this number. When I try to use the create account online link, it takes me to a page where I'm supposed to enter my login and password. I didn't make one so I have no way to login. When I choose the find password option it can't find me. Also, when I choose the create account link, it creates an account other than the 004 one.
Can anyone give some guidance here? I'm trying to sign up for a new account promo, get a new account and be on my way. Thanks.

When a new account is created the account number is created right away and can be used to make reservations and get points.
Creating an online account can take up to 48 hours. Wait a day or 2 and then try again to create an account.
Did you look into the instant gold upgrade if you sign up with the BA link mentioned in this thread.

I used the link for free Gold membership via BA and when I emailed customer support they told me it takes 3-5 days to create the account since it was an airline referral. After that I would be able to create an online password/account.

So this account was created, but just not active yet?
This IS the email from the BA promotion.
They sent that email and a password email. It seems that I went in and created another account.
